Some of the main difficulties that I find when writing essays so far are research and citation. I never know how to start, where to navigate and which webs to rely on. I usually depend on google scholar or official websites, for they are reliable. Furthermore, it is always a good idea to research certain authors' papers and articles on paper which are by far much more trustworthy than any source on the Internet. As regards citation, it is crucial to avoid plagiarism, thus we must be able to paraphrase and to cite suitably. In fact, there are plenty of styles to reference, we must be aware that bibliography is referenced according to the field studied. For instance, for the spheres of linguistics and literature is APA and MLA style respectively.
In the previous days, I have watched the film 300 twice for analysing it in the course of Curso Monográfico de Cultura Anglo-Norteamericana. It has an impressive background such as the social, cultural and historical distortion and the evident and shameless stereotyping of men and women in Ancient times and of the evil characters. On the other hand, I began reading the book Flaubert's Parrot by Julian Barnes for the course of Modernism. Lastly, yesterday I went to a bar to do a tandem with native English speakers.
