In my opinion, creating a blog is an essential way to develop writing skills and learn to use both academic and non-academic style while it is entertaining and enjoyable.  Personally, it has helped me not only to develop my writing skills and creativity but also to know myself deeply. Moreover, I consider that I have learnt plenty of new vocabulary and expressions and I have been in contact with both formal and informal language, which is crucial for truly knowing a language. Furthermore, the subjects dealt with were really interesting and original. When creating a new blog entry, you learn about a topic that, maybe, you have never studied or heard about before, for instance, when we have been told to write about the different types of essays, linking words, or idioms.
